…I don’t know, what do you want to do?
Weekends are very precious to us in our family. This is because Pat works during the day, and then I go to school at night. We are like two passing ships in the dark of the night, trying to navigate the rough waters of the world…or not, whatever.
So I was thinking that we should do something fun and exciting this weekend to celebrate our ships docking into a safe harbor for a restful and enchanting three days and nights…did that sound sexual to anyone? No? Just me then.
Here’s what I was thinking we should do:
- Go to the San Diego Zoo
- Book a space trip with NASA
- Go to Disneyland
- Go to the mountains and play in the snow (is there still snow on the mountains?)
- Build a water slide out of our bedroom window
- Get one of these things, and take turns jumping off the roof

- Go to the dog beach, fly a kite, and watch Zoey lick the sand
- Go to the Aquarium of the Pacific
- Or we can get our tea leaves read…although tea gives me the trots.
What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

Wait–are you planning to have sex at all these places?
But seriously folks, have you seen weekend traffic to and fro San Diego? You do not want to be going that way unless you plan for a 3 hour roadtrip (one way) or leave at 2 a.m. Saturdays are the worst going south; Sundays heading north. Just sayin’
I vote for the beach. Or Irvine Park (they have a cute little zoo–not much to it but kids dig it, and a train, and you can rent bikes, etc.) Or Palm Springs.

Aquarium of the Pacific is always really nice, but 2 things - go early when it opens - much nicer! And check the LB city web site - there might be Grand Prix things starting to happen…like a chili cookoff? Which actually sounds enticing, but we’re headed for a 2 day swim meet! Perhaps I’ll make my own chili!
I love the idea of game night too - everyone gets to pick a game! And when after kid-bedtime….!?!?!?
The weather should be good - enjoy enjoy enjoy!
