Merry Christmas-Time

Aren’t you excited? It’s December and that means it’s officially acceptable to haul out your Christmas crap, play annoying music about chestnuts and figgy pudding, and hit you with this sweet image:

We, over here at Hippo Brigade wish you a very merry month of December!

How awesome is that picture?!? I, for one, can’t wait to break out the aluminum tree and color wheel.

I have come to this post 3 or 4 times today, just for a quick giggle :)
Everything about it is hilarious.

It is Brumfield perfection.

Love the card. I prefer original designs to Hallmark crap.

I need a new book

I threw a book today. I threw it good and hard, because it was stupid. It was like it was the illegitimate teenage daughter of Satire, and it drove a Ford Mustang and almost had pretty hair. So, after 45 or so pages, I did what any other self respecting person would do that enjoys a good, dark humorous book: I threw it. Because it wasn’t good, or dark, or humorous, it was just trying to be all those things, and no one likes a poser. I don’t understand why the book sucked so much, all her other books were fabulous. They used to have the distinct ability to make me laugh so hard that my ass fat would quiver, and I would think, “hot dog! Why can’t I be that clever and ass quivering hilarious?” But now, nope, no more hilarity. It was as if she used it all up, reached her silly quota, and then a little piece of her shriveled up and died.
So, I’m looking for another book to read…Annnnnd, I think I’m going to pick up the first book in the Twilight series. I know, it’s silly, childish, and immature, but so am I. Plus I already saw the movie, so I might as well fully commit, and embrace the obsession right next to 16 year olds with Tiger Beat posters of Edward on their ceilings.

My girlfriend let me borrow her Twilight book 3 days ago and I am almost done! I think you will like it :)

I am in my 30′s and just recently gave in and read the twilight series. Book One was the best for sure … and sadly, I have to admit I felt like a teenager in love for the first time again.

You might also like to try The Journals of The Jacoby Odyssey, if you’re into fantasy stuffs. It’s not a romance, more of a modern day setting fantasy. I just finished the first two books and I put it more in the Harry Potter category.

This isn’t relevant, but I had a dream last night that you were a guest on Jay Leno talking about blogging. You were there with four other faceless bloggers but you did all the talking. I woke up this morning still thinking it was real and I was so confused why you hadn’t mentioned your television debut on your blog yet.

what book did you throw?

I have a very funny book for you. Not too dark, though ( I think it’s light blue). About a kid growing up in NY in the ’50s. It’s called “108th Street” and I think the only place you can get it is at http://www.eloquentbooks.com/108thstreet.html. Will get your butt shaking again.

oh! We just talked about the Twilight series in one of my English classes because we’re reading Dracula right now, and apparently it was written by a Mormon stay-at-home mom. Huh.

I highly recommend David Eggers “What is the What.” Super sad but in a super good way. You will finish Twilight in like a day anyways.
